Chiropractic. Everyone has an opinion on it. Whether you actually know what it is or not, you probably still have an opinion about it. Either that, or you don’t know and could care less if you ever did. If that were the case, you wouldn’t still be reading this, so I’ll put you in one of the two former descriptions. You may have friends who regularly see chiropractors. You might also have an idea of what we do, from those friends, the media, or from that massage therapist whom you see a few times a year. You still probably wouldn’t be able to describe what we do.
I say “we”, because I am a chiropractor. Yes, I’m one of those. I, however, am able to describe what I do in one sentence. I help people achieve their optimum health by restoring spinal and nerve health and stability via the chiropractic adjustment. Hmm…ok, what is chiropractic then? Chiropractic is the branch of the healing arts based on the fact that the nervous system controls the entire body.
I know, still totally confusing. Which brings us to this blog. I wanted to start blogging about what I do on a daily basis as a chiropractor. The above definition of chiropractic is textbook-worthy and important to understand, but I want to make chiropractic real to you. I want you to hear about how I helped fix a 20 year old shoulder injury, or how I helped fix someone’s back so he could lift his toddler up again. We will all be that someone, at some point in our lives. I hope by reading about my life as a chiropractor, you will understand how this amazing technique and lifestyle that has been in use for over 150 years, can help you live your life with no limitations.
